A late quick post now I've sorted out the flowers that were delivered yesterday afternoon by kind friends. Here's how my dining room is looking today. On the table I did have my lovely white damask table cloth that my grandmother gave us as part of our wedding present, but my boy spilt his breakfast all over it this morning so it's now washed and drying on the line in Sydney's gorgeous sunshine. In the meantime I've just put down a lovely French looking taupe and blue striped table runner (about $10 from IKEA). love it all.
These flowers look beautiful on my sideboard. A great height next to the pineapple lamps. The lilies are mainly shut so I think this bunch will last a long while. They are nice to have in the centre of our house, reminding me of my mum.
Here's the room from the other side. Small changes can give a whole new look. I love how this room is evolving.
I've propped my chalkboard drawing up on a chair until I get around to hanging it on the wall. I love how it looks in the dining room. The white ornate from fits in well with all the other scrolly ornate furniture. The flowers on the table are the ones my friend dropped around in Saturday night. I am definitely being spoilt by my friends. Thank you.
...and a close up of our beautiful chandelier. I want to find some of those flame tipped globes but they are very hard to track down in Australia. I should have picked them up when I was last in America as you can just find them in the hardware store ever so cheaply there.
I hope you are enjoying this glorious day.
cheers
Fiona xx

ReplyDeleteThank you Faux Fuchsia, and for stopping by. I love the cheap table runners at Ikea, especially living with a messy little boy!

You have a beautiful dining room. I love the country scene painting on your wall. Could you please tell me who the artist is?
ReplyDeleteThank you! The painting is by the wonderful Laura Matthews. Her studio is in Rozelle. She's been painting in a bit of a different style lately but I love her work

Fiona - I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. I pray that whenever you bring flowers into your home, your memories will be just as sweet. Your dining room is so large and lovely, and the chandy is like icing on the cake. :)
