What's on Auction today

While I'm working full time for the next couple of weeks I'm not able to get to any furniture auctions, but I couldn't resist checking out what's on auction today. Here are my picks:

These vintage wire baskets are so useful.

vintage wire crates
Lot 1078
I have one at home that I fill with flowers in vintage Fowler preserving jars.

A couple of cute bedside tables that would look beautiful painted white.

Lot 1136
And I love this side/hall table. It may not look much now but this would be stunning in either white or perhaps turquoise for a splash of colour!

Lot 1149

Mirrors galore. How beautiful are the large ones. I have seen some beautiful rooms with massive ornate mirrors leaning against the wall. I love the mixture of elegance and casualness it brings.

Lot 1234

lot 1002
and this smaller mirror would look great paint white.
Lot 1009
How beautiful is this truck. What a great colour.
Shame about the name scrawled on it but surely something could remove that.
Where's Shannon Lush when you need her?

Lot 1314
This whole bedroom set would look fantastic painted.
What a great shape these are.
Lot 1354-1356
and last but not least is this divine kitchen butcher's bench.
talk about perfect. What's not to love!
If I was starting out, I could plan my whole kitchen around this.

Lot 1402
If any items interest you, make your way over to Annandale to Lawson's this morning or you can place an absentee bid, bid online or bid by phone but you need to pre-register.

I am still enjoying my contract project, but I'm missing my normal life. I've now worked long, long hours for nine days straight which may not sound much but it's been pretty full on and stressful. The good thing is it is making me appreciate my normal, balanced life even more than I already did.

So many of you have sent me the loveliest messages and emails (and I've even had several phone calls) sending me good luck messages for this crazy project and saying you'll bear with me while I'm not blogging as often. Thanks for that, it really means a lot.

I'm hoping to do some furniture painting on the weekend...and some baking and lots of cuddles with my kids (and my husband!)

  1. Hi Fiona - Glad to hear the project work is going well, if long, an that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I love these posts! Seeing them items ready for sale is a great motivator to get out there and find some treasures. And I love that butchers block too, I think the colour is gorgeous, I don't think I'd want to change it at all.

I bet you are missing your normal life but it will be there when you are done with your contract. Sounds like you have this weekend off, so enjoy!
