They fit in the small bolts like butter but the long required bolts are very tight. I had to use players to get it out! The one side of the sink the strainer won't go in at all. So frustrating! I am the proud owner of a 36 inch Domsjo sink (which are virtually impossible to find in the Greater Toronto Area right now due to their popularity). I am wondering how much the apron protrudes out from the cabinet---I had a custom kitchen installed yesterday and the sink's apron might impede my ability to open the cutlery drawer, which is at a 90 degree angle or "U" to my sink....I don't want to start installing without that crucial and exact measurement---I know that it is 27 inches wide and about 36 inches long--the length is ok, I just need the measurement of the apron part and how far it goes beyond the cut out in the cupboard...does that make sense? Pulling the sink out of the box wont help as it won't be exact, exact when I place it in the empty space (the cabinet is not cut out yet). I am extremely sleep-deprived with the renovation so sorry for the rambling question!! Love your kitchen!!! Any help on this would be appreciated!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4898359052933678205.post-10120408957017612652013-11-21T20:26:08.767+11:002013-11-21T20:26:08.767+11:00hi Melissa, sorry i've only seen this comment ...hi Melissa, sorry i've only seen this comment now. yes it's fine for all my stuff.Fiona, Lilyfield Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12051970432044610864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4898359052933678205.post-69580975927961520482013-11-21T20:25:34.063+11:002013-11-21T20:25:34.063+11:00good idea!!good idea!!Fiona, Lilyfield Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12051970432044610864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4898359052933678205.post-12804135713662350922013-11-21T19:03:55.993+11:002013-11-21T19:03:55.993+11:00I live 200kms from the big smoke. Are you installing over a fatkum Ikea cabinet or your own cabinet? the only thing you make have to do is cut a little away at the back of the fatkum cabinet. but i doubt this. and it's not as though that would be visible.
cheers FionaFiona, Lilyfield Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12051970432044610864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4898359052933678205.post-52147877363953155342012-06-27T14:35:21.275+10:002012-06-27T14:35:21.275+10:00Hey Fiona,

The bolt that comes with the Atlant strainer is too short . it's for the metal sinks. Two longer bolts come in the sink packaging. it will be taped to the side of the sink or something like that. I actually threw these out by mistake so went back to Ikea and asked for more, they complained a little but but eventually gave me 2 more. it must happen all the time.
good luck finishing them. it took me ages to sort out as even the people in the sink department didn't know about the bolts. Another person overheard me asking and told me.
cheers FionaFiona, Lilyfield Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12051970432044610864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4898359052933678205.post-39544980028271939052012-04-19T18:11:27.955+10:002012-04-19T18:11:27.955+10:00hello, I have bought this sink but i can not figur...hello, I have bought this sink but i can not figure out how to install the atlant strainer plugs - the bolt seems to short?? I think i'm going to have to do a new blog post on it as I get so many questions. It has worn very well. I use a clear plastic sink mat in it (from either Howard's Storage (around $16) or from cheaper discount stores. But my sink had only 1 tiny mark on it which is way less than a stainless steel sink would have after a year. I was heavy scanpan baking dishes in it all the time as well as the cast iron trivets form my massive stove. I just do this all very carefully. saying that I've never broken anything in my sink , I was petrified of doing this but it's been fine. and my kids (5 and 8) clear their own plates and put them in the sink all the time so it's been good that way.
the sink isnt stained at all and we make vegetable juice at least once a day and do if anything that would stain so i don't think that would be a problem at all ever,
hope that helps. its such a beautiful sink and nice to wash up at.
let me know what you decide
cheers FionaFiona, Lilyfield Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12051970432044610864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4898359052933678205.post-84476845072850050332012-02-25T15:37:19.578+11:002012-02-25T15:37:19.578+11:00Hi Fiona
