Vintage bedroom set in navy (take two)

(republishing as hopefully the photos appear properly this time)

Happy Easter everyone! We’re watching I,Tonya curled up on the lounge. I bought a new iPad last week and am going to change my schedule with blogging as obviously blogging early in the morning isn’t working well anymore as I’m so erratic. Hopefully the iPad app makes my posts look nice. This navy furniture is going to look good anyway 😎

I bought these all from an estate sale. I ended up selling separately but decided to paint them all in navy. I love how it all turned out. I’ve found it difficult to photograph these and capture their true colour. They are a beautiful deep dark navy. So regal.

The bedside tables are just gorgeous. I love the legs.
A lovely regular customer Deb bought the large chests of drawers and is picking them up on Tuesday. I’m sure she will love them. She already has navy bedsides that she bought from me a few months ago.

The bedside tables have a fantastic story. I received a message from a guy called Lee. He told me that his wife loves my furniture and had been ogling these bedsides the night before, and if they were still available could he buy them for his wife as their anniversary present. Husband of the year.  So I told him they were available and so he jumps in his car and drives from Newcastle to pick them up, and hopes to get home and to put them into place before his wife Jodie gets home.

The night I got a gorgeous message from Jodie
Hey! OMG I got a shock when I got home today. Thank you they’re beautiful.

Makes me so happy

A beautiful vintage secretaire

As soon as I saw this piece I knew I wanted it and exactly what I wanted to do with it. This is a piece I would keep if I didn't have bills to pay :) I love how it turned out. I know I've said it before but how good is paint.

Even two secret compartments for money and passports.

For this piece I have used Annie Sloan Chalk paint but mixed the colours for a unique look.  I also replaced the glass in the doors with wire. The glass was a bit weird in my opinion - it bulged out and I didn't like it.

Love the curved serpentine front.

I'm off to pick up some more lovely pieces. Have a great day

White drawers and boxwood balls

lilyfield life hand painted white drawers

Good morning - I had a day out of my studio yesterday. I still have some clients left over from my business consulting days so it's nice to give my back a break every now and then.  So while I didn't get to paint any thing, I do have some lovely large timber drawers available for sale.

These have been painted in my crisp white chalk paint, gently distressed and waxed for a silky smooth finish.

Dimensions are: 107w x 52d x 89h cm
$550

A weekend of inspiration

Good morning! I have been MIA as I had my gorgeous friend Sandy from Paint Me White here on the weekend and Monday. We go to the trade shows together each year which is great as we bounce ideas off each other. I have some beautiful home wares coming, fantastic to style my painted furniture with. I am always being asked to sell the pieces I have on top of my furniture in photos so it makes sense to have some extra pieces.  I can't wait to share it all with you.

relaxing after a long day at the trade show
I thought you might like to see a few photos from the weekend. These hydrangeas had us drooling. Doesn't greenery make the best display.

On Monday afternoon I took Sandy to a few of my favourite haunts for inspiration. One is Parterre in Woollahra.

I love the white cyclamen. So fresh.
Even this little reproduction painted corner unit in the toilet gained my attention. So beautiful.

How inspiring - lots of lovely pieces to come and a great catch up with a gorgeous friend. I couldn't ask for more.
