Magazine Feature for Lilyfield Life

hello! There was a little flurry of excitement here on Friday when one of my friends rang to say she'd seen our kitchen featured in a magazine; did I know about it?

Actually I didn't know it was out!  But I am absolutely delighted to have a 5 page feature in this month's Classic Kitchens & Bathrooms magazine. How wonderful to be able to share our kitchen renovation, my blog and DIY philosophy with such a big audience.

So thank you to the editor, Lauren Broomham, photographer Tony Potter, stylist Kathryn Borglund and especially to journalist,  Mark Vender, who I felt appreciated our DIY approach and our attitudes to family, home and life in general.

It thrills and amazes me to see our house and my furniture in magazines and glossy contents pages.

A special thank you has to go to our wonderful builders, Pete and Barry from Serenity Construction. They are amazingly easy to work with, stuck to our budget and have a wonderful attention to detail. They also use a great team of tradesmen and a brilliant cabinet maker who was able to bring my design into reality.  If you are in Sydney and want Barry's number, drop me an email. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

If you want to see more from this photo shoot, go here and details of our kitchen renovation go here.  (I've got to warn you though, the photos from the kitchen reveal are not very good as it's from when I first started blogging.)

So that's my moment of fame and excitement for the week, what's happening with you?

    1. Thanks Cassie – you must be loving your new kitchen also! I love the navy you have chosen - so bold. I would love to hear in about a years time how the painted and waxed cabinets hold up – not that I’m doubting them I just am interested.
Have a good day – I’m finishing a dresser for our bedroom –can’t wait to put all my clothes away as they are all over the place!

    1. Thanks Alison – I know but I suppose once the initial feature is out (country home ideas) they don’t worry about it – they do own the story and photos. Funny though…
