Good afternoon, hope you had a wonderful Christmas and lots of lovely time with your family and friends. We're back home and taking it slowly today - reading books, jigsaws and chatting. I;m going to have to do a mad run around in about an hour or so as we've got friends coming over for dinner. It'll be nice and low key but house looking messy from the mad rush before Christmas so I'll at least tidy up :)
We had a beautiful Christmas up the coast, with Christmas lunch at Putty beach with my side of the family. An overcast day but so relaxed and lovely. Just how I like it.
I'm holding off doing any work for a few more days to give my back a rest as I've been having trouble with it for about 6 months now. To be honest I'm feeling REALLY lazy :) I do have a big sideboard all primed and ready to paint and a few small pieces to do also. Soon....
While I mainly paint larger pieces, I also love doing some small projects that I can store easily and fit in between the big drawers and sideboards. Here are some little cute pieces that I've done recently and a few pieces at the bottom of this piece that are still available.
How lovely is this old fashioned book stand above - I painted this in a tiny sample tin I was sent of an English paint - Vintro. It's absolutely lovely chalk paint with fantastic coverage and this colour (French Navy) is the most beautiful teal.
Below is a little stool that is painted in ASCP Antibes - I'm sure you'll recognize this beautiful green.
How cute are these small side tables that all sold before Christmas.
I really love vintage sets of nests of tables - actually I don't really like painting them as they are fiddly but I love the finished look of them. Love both these sets below that I painted and sold recently.
A lovely customer gave me a few small tins of paint that she had left over after deciding furniture painting isn't for her. One of the tins was Porters' paint China Rose. I used it on this little vintage bedside table and finished the piece off with porters liming Wax. Such a pretty piece for a girl's room.

I also have a lovely vintage pot cupboard for sale. This is a limed white with a white fleur de lis on the door. such a cute little piece and one that can be useful in any room.

I had better get moving and tidy the house and perhaps have some lunch (it's now 2:30pm...day slipping away)
Enjoy your afternoon

Hi Fiona
ReplyDeleteLove small pieces but as you say, fiddly, when you get a chance, please do a tutorial on how to paint fiddly furniture, best place to start etc...obvious stuff, if you know.
Best wishes
