Lots of painted furniture for Diane on the Gold Coast

Once again I've let things slip here so thank you so much if you are still reading. I've updated the "for sale" page with pieces that are still available.  Its been busy (like everybody else I'm sure) and I have a few large shipments to a lovely buyer on the Gold Coast. 12 pieces so far and a few more to go in January. Diane is updating her house and has fallen in love with my furniture. Luckily I have a great guy who does a transport from Sydney to the Gold Coast and always take great care with my pieces.

Here's some of the pieces that Diane bought.

The large pretty white sideboard.

A very old Indian cabinet - I had so much work to do on this piece. I got some new shelves to cute. Had to nail and glue the base back on. Add a new hinge and hammer the top back on. The day I did all that I was more carpenter than painter but on a rustic old piece like this I didn't have to do 100% percent precise so my skills were good enough.

I painted the interior in a mix of ASCP Antibes and Pure White. Isn't that pop of colour gorgeous!

A lot of these old Indian cupboards have a secret compartment at the base. I don't know what was kept inside. Anyway it's less secret now as I've replaced the screw to lift out the base with a little handle to make it easier.

In progress. My studio packed tight these days -lots of work going on.

and the before photo. This photo doesn't actually show how bad it was. This is probably the dirtiest piece of furniture I have ever dealt with. I had to scrub and scrub it clean.

Diane also bought a long low chest of 9 drawers for her bedroom - also in white and distressed. These drawers are so beautiful. Solid timber and such a nice shape. The only before photo I have in when they were still in the car :)

And these bow front drawers also for the other side of her bedroom.

Th order also included a few mirrors and other pieces.

If you sell mirrors and want a tutorial on how to edit yourself out of the photo let me know and I'll write one. I will often take photos from an angle for mirrors but it doesn't work on oval mirrors as the mirror taken on an angle looks all wonky.

This vintage chair also went to the Gold Coast. I painted the leather which was in perfect condition but a hideous mustard yellow. This colour is a mix of ASCP French Linen, Paris Grey, Olive and Florence. Such a lovely sage colour. if you want a tutorial on how to paint a vinyl or leather chair with chalk paint then here;s is one I wrote a few years ago. The paint holds up amazingly well on the chair and the leather feels perfectly normal after you sand and wax it. A great method for refreshing these beautiful old chairs.

Diane also bought this beautiful French style desk. I am so thrilled with how this desk turned out. I have been really working on my ability to add subtle patina. This desk will be part of my next shipment to her including a coffee table and bedside tables as well. She's redecorating her whole house and keeping me busy.

I can't wait to see photos of Diane's house with all these lovely pieces in place. I'll ask her if it's okay to share photos with you.

I'm off to scour some antique shops for inspiration. Then tonight we're going to Christmas carols. Hopefully the rain holds off.
