Hope you’ve had a brilliant weekend even if you are in lockdown. Today I’m sharing a lovely simple project I did the other day. Super easy twisted candles. Such an impact using cheap candles from the supermarket.
I started with a simple box of white candles I got for a couple of dollars at the supermarket. I warmed them for about 20 mins in a jar of warm/hot water.
Then when they are flexible I rolled the middles of them with my rolling pin between two pieces of baking paper. You just want to flatten them a bit.
And then with your hands start twisting until you have the look you want.
How fantastic so they look! I can’t wait to try it with some coloured ones also. Claire from Found and Favour did it with these pretty pink ones. It looks like she rolled hers thinner than I did. They look amazing don’t they.
Let me know if you give this a try.

I emailed this to my 21 year old granddaughter. She loves DIY and crafts. I will send a picture of our attempts.
ReplyDeleteI wish that I had your talent for painting furniture. I have done a few pieces but they are not of your quality. Too bad that I am in the States or I would be a loyal customer. I love the country French look that you do so well.
I am also in awe of your orchids. Mine bloom once or twice then give up. Sad.
A long-time reader and admirer.
Thanks so much for your lovely message.
DeleteHope your daughter has fun with the candles. I love them.
I don’t know if it’s talent re the furniture painting; just very well practiced :) it’s so good to paint furniture isn’t it. Even after 10 years I still love doing it.
Have a lovely week
Cheers Fiona
