My little boy has asked for two things for Christmas: that I make a gingerbread house and name place cookies. I did these a few years ago and they obviously made a big impression on him. So sweet that he has asked for things I have made and not toys!
I made this gingerbread house from scratch, my own template and gingerbread. If any one wants instructions or an easy recipe, please leave a comment and I will do a post on it as I make this year's house.
...and the name place chocolate cookies.
This is a fabulous chocolate sugar cookie recipe found here. I ice them with home made royal icing.
My daughter has her flamenco concert tonight and her dress is green and black. They are meant to have a matching flower clip for their hair. We've just made a lovely flower out of the Woolworth's green reusable shopping bag. I love my glue gun!
cheers

That is so sweet :)
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona,
ReplyDeleteWe just did a Gingerbread house for the 2nd year in a row. The kids loved doing it last year and so we did it again and it was a huge success. I think next year I may be brave enough to cook one from scratch. I would love to hear how you did yours! I love reading your blog too! It's great to be in Sydney and to have blogs available from Sydneysiders that show creative interesting women.
I love your gingerbread house - how much fun. I hope to make one too this year. Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI would live the recipe and template for the gingerbread house. My kids live making them and they are teenagers. We usually use a kit.
