  6. Good work on reaching a big 400 Blog posts. I do enjoy all the inspiration and especially now we are back in the suburbs after 32 years. I am having fun re- discovering all my family "treasures" in a brand new setting - helping keep a bit of country in the city :)

    1. thanks Sandra - love a little bit of country. Are you finding that things look not as good in their new context or better? I think some of my mum's stuff I brought back was much nicer at mum's than mine. Not sure if it's just what you are used to - I'm not the best at change - if you can believe that!
      have a lovely weekend

O My goodness I cannot believe your generosity of time you put into your blog sharing with the wider community let alone the lovely prize to be won by the lucky 400th person. I have always wanted to painted furniture and now got the confidence to start. I also have a gorgeous cavoodle (Poppy) whom appears to have as good a life as your Charlie. Hoping to paint a bookcase this weekend if I can get some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, we are on the Far North Coast NSW. Thanks Jodi (and the family)

  27. I can't remember exactly how I came across your blog, but I know I was looking for ideas on painting furniture. We have just built a house, and new furniture is not high on the list of needs :) so I am slowly starting to paint what we have to update. I appreciate all of the information you freely give to do with painting furniture - it has helped me a lot!

  28. Wow, 400 posts! That is a lot of painted furniture and gorgeous blog posts there!

You know I adore your blog, you are so helpful and generous with your knowledge and time. I am a woeful painter, and I am slowly learning. I have learnt so much from you about bleed through and how to ensure a smooth finish that I realise now a tiny chest of drawers I painted a few years ago needs to be redone. It is a shocker!!!

Here's to 400 more lovely blog posts! x

  30. Thank you, your blog has saved me! My husband has just retired and to fill our long days ahead together (all you women out there know what I mean), we have decided to join forces and re-love our sad 80's pine furniture, as well as each other of course! So brushes in hand we are armed and ready to paint, paint, paint. Who needs scenic river cruises in retirement when a trip out into the garage can be just as fulfilling!

I'm Judi and I'm a follower from the UK. I only recently developed a new interest in my home and in doing so started searching for fresh ideas on the internet. I found you! Your work has really inspired me, and I would have loved one of your beautiful tablecloths, but sadly am not in the running not being located in the right place. However, I'd be absolutely thrilled if I won the books, so keeping my fingers crossed.
