Made It My Own with Annie Sloan - Turquoise Serpentine Hall Table

As you know I love Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan for a furniture painting project (or a thousand of them). I usually like to mix the colours to create something that is very much my own (rather than just what other people are doing). The chalk paint mixes beautifully and you can create amazing colours in addition to the already beautiful colour range.

When I was asked to blog about the Annie Sloan #MadeItMyOwn competition I was more than happy to spread the word - there are some great prizes on offer and it's a lovely chance to not only share your own work, but to be inspired by everyone else's.

How to join in the fun? 

You can grab a cardboard frame from your Chalk Paint Stockist or download and print a frame from here.

Photograph your painted furniture with the frame in front or it and share it via Instagram or twitter with the hastag #madeitmyown. When you share on IG tag me @lilyfieldlife as I'd love to see your entry. 

(I had trouble getting both the project and the frame in focus for my first makeover attempt, LOL)

You can also upload your images directly onto www.AnnieSloan.com/MIMO and overlay your frame digitally. This is how I'll go in future  - saves the focusing problems :)

My Serpentine Demi Lune Hall Table

When I was asked to share this competition I thought I'd do a bold, fun piece as my entry. I had a beautiful serpentine demi lune hall table in my stash that I thought would make a perfect statement piece.

Using ASCP Aubusson as my base, I mixed a bright peacock turquoise. So rich and luscious. I adore this colour. I then painted the detail in Pure White, sealed with Clear Wax then antiqued and distressed the piece.
