Duck Egg Blue Dressing Table Vanity Mirror Set

ASCP Duck Egg Blue Vanity Mirror Set by Lilyfield Life

What a gorgeous weekend we've had in Sydney. Today was a little cooler with a few spots of rain but as my Dad always said never let rain change your plans as so often the weather clears up when you arrive at your destination. We headed over to Freshwater this afternoon to enrol the kids in Nippers and for a stroll along the beach. It was just lovely and we are looking forward to spending Sunday mornings there this summer.

It's a pretty gorgeous beach, isn't it? I find it hard to call it Freshwater though, to me it'll always be Harbord.

I found some time to take some photos of a vanity set I recently painted. I love it when people drop off pieces of furniture for me to refinish.  The lovely Marg from a few doors down gave me a vanity mirror set that was in an orange pine finish. I thought it would look lovely and a little bit special in ASCP Duck Egg Blue with white accents.

Luckily the mirror was easily removed making it very simple to paint a white trim on the curved part and then duck egg blue right next to the mirror.  I also added white to the bevelled drawer edges.

I don't usually paint all the drawers sides and insides but for these little drawers I decided to as the orange pine does not look good next to the duck egg blue. Duck Egg Blue looks lovely teamed with darker woods but not orange pine.  The drawers are great for your jewellery, lipsticks or keys.

This mirror set is made to sit on a dressing table or chest of drawers. I think it would look fabulous on a white or navy or timber chest of drawers or even on a hallway cabinet or in the bathroom. Email me if you are interested in purchasing it. The mirror tilts and you can make it stay in your chosen position. It is in lovely condition.

Duck Egg Blue is a little sea foamy and reminds me of the sea.  Bring on the beach - I am so ready for it! I'm going to start squad swimming training again very soon to prepare for some more ocean swims this year.

Hope you all had (for you guys overseas still having) a lovely weekend. I'd love to hear what you got up to. I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Fiona, my best friend lives on the cliff overlooking Freshwater beach and I was there this morning. It is a fabulous beach and I love spending time there - just to hear to sound of the ocean.... Might see you there one Sunday in summer!
