Carved Timber Sideboard

I don't have a makeover for you today but I do have a lovely piece of furniture. This is one of the few pieces of furniture in our house that I never painted. The wood is in beautiful condition and I like some timber pieces to balance the painted pieces. However when I bought Mr Magnificent home the only place he could fit was where this lovely carved timber sideboard sat, in our study area. As I already have a French Provincial sideboard in our dining room, I've decided to sell this one.

This sideboard was one of the first pieces of furniture Phil and I bought together when we bought our house in Lilyfield. We'd got a baby sitter to mind Sasha and went for a quick dinner at a little Italian restaurant in Leichhardt and we were strolling along after dinner hand in hand looking in the shop windows when we saw the sideboard. Luckily the shop was open and the guy agreed to deliver the sideboard to us. These were the days
before I realised just how much furniture I can squeeze into our car.

And so the sideboard has sat in our study area with our table linens in it as well as acting as the "present cupboard" (yes I occasionally re-gift!) until I found Mr Magnificent.  If you don't know what I'm talking about go see one of my latest purchases.

One of the things I love about this sideboard is the beautiful corbels and carved doors. The drawers have a lovely curved shape to them also.

Dimensions: 170cm wide, 49cm deep, 92cm tall
Please email me if you are interested in purchasing or to inspect. Now sold thanks

How beautiful are those ranunculi? The Orange Grove markets this morning looked beautiful with all the flowers. Sasha and I were up very early and got 3 huge bunches for $12. You have to love that!

Lucky I'm not too sentimental, it's been a special piece of furniture for Phil and I but we really don't have room so hopefully someone else will think it's special also.

Have a lovely weekend.
I hope your Saturday includes some fresh market flowers also.

    1. thanks Bec, I think this piece would be a bit hard to paint anyway because the drawers slide against the wood and it would scratch the paint off. Anyway it sold really quickly so all good!
hope you have a good week, Fiona x
