Mahogany Shabby Chic Cupboard

It's Saturday afternoon and we've had a reasonably quiet day at home but are heading out for dinner soon.  Well I say quiet but our boy has yelled a lot today so not that quiet. Our poor neighbours. We really should live in the country! At least the weather is finally nice and the kids have been able to jump on the trampoline and play under the sprinkler.

In between baking a special cake for my mother-in-law's 70th birthday lunch tomorrow, I painted this little mahogany cupboard.  I have left the top natural wood (after stripping it, restaining it and waxing it) but I painted the rest with a french limed white and the detail in a french linen. For sale.

  2. I'm curious. What type of paint do you use? Do you prepare the surface of stained furniture any special way to prepare it to paint?

  3. Lovely! How do you prevent bleed-through when painting over mahogany? Thanks
