Maroochydore and Noosa - sunshine, surf, shopping and coffee!

Ok so I'm probably lying about the sunshine.....

The weather was terrible while we were away - several towns on the coast got flooded and the coastal highway was closed in sections.

Still I did manage to get some sunny photos.,and what I love about Australia is that the beaches were still full of people swimming even in the pouring rain.

We first had a weekend with our good friends who have just moved to Brisbane.  The view from our apartment at Maroochydore.

The apartment's pool and tennis court.

On the Sunday were fantastic crafty markets at Cotton Tree. We bought several things including sea shells, a hat for my daughter and a top for me. The kids also got a lovely notebook each from Jazzii Bee. Mark and Louise are so friendly and they make fabulous notebooks with little pockets inside them - great for kids precious notes.  You can buy them online on their website or at Eumundi or Cotton Tree markets.

After that weekend, we had a week at a beach house at Sunrise Beach, next to Noosa. My lovely friend, Jenny, owns the house and let us have it rent free.  It's good to have good friends!

When at Noosa I love to go to Bistro C.  It's one of my favourite spots for a morning coffee. Even in the rain....

or in the sunshine..

This is the stairway down to the loos at Bistro C - very chic...I took this photo for Cassie - she's a big fan or grey and white stripes....

and Bistro C has great art work.  We loved this wall.

Despite the rain, the beach was still full of people swimming and having fun.  My kids went swimming fully dressed as I had thought it was too wet to bring our swimmers.  What would I know?

so this is what a busy beach in Australia looks like....

I love this photo of my boy.

Noosa has some lovely homewares and furniture shops.
Luckily my kids are very used to me dragging them around.

I loved this driftwood headboard.

And these next 2 photos are from a lovely homeware shop and cafe in Paddington in Brisbane. We stopped there on our way back to Sydney.  Just beautiful.

I had to share this photo of my kids in the pool.
They love each other so much!

I've finished a few bits of furniture today which I'll share tomorrow.  And this white desk I blogged about yesterday has already been picked up and is off to it's new home.
