Beautiful Sideboards I have Painted and a Prize

I finished painting a white sideboard late last night. I should be able to finish top coat it this mid morning and, depending if I can sort the handles out as I've just realise one is broken, photograph it so pop back tomorrow to check it out.

In the meantime these are the other sideboards I have painted. I love a dining room with a sideboard. A lot of dining rooms in Sydney's Inner West would not be big enough for sideboards but if you have room, they are such a practical piece of furniture - great to store your table linens and platters and cutlery. To say nothing of having an extra serving surface.

This fleur de lis sideboard was one of my first paint projects. It was originally a fake red mahogany finish. I still love this makeover. You can see details here.

This sideboard I painted twice. initially I did a Wedgwood jasperware design but it never sold even though so many people told me they loved it but there is a big difference between loving something and it fitting in with the rest of your decor. So I ended up painting it white and it sold the next day.

This was also a lovely makeover. The top of this sideboard was the most beautiful timber. I sold this to a lovely young couple in their early 20s who had just bought their first house (clever people). I still occasionally hear from them and love that they have remained in touch.  See the make over details here.

and this was something a bit different for me. I bought an old Irish sideboard that was in dire need of painting. I don't think there was any rescuing this one without paint. I love the turquoise with the pop of clean white on the inside. I called this my vintage industrial sideboard. Some guys bought it for their bedroom. They were so happy with it.

and this is my favourite of all time.  I kept this beauty. This is the French Provincial sideboard now taking pride of place in my dining room.  Here is the before photo. I absolutely hate the striped walnut but love the shape.

It's hard to get a good photo of it due to the layout of the room. the dining table is right in front.  My beautiful Laura Matthews' painting was there on that wall before the sideboard graced us with it's presence and in this photo the painting was just hanging there till we were able to hang it on the other wall.

and here it is now.

So hopefully you think the sideboard I reveal later is good enough to join these in my portfolio!
