Ginger Jars and Roses

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day in Sydney after a week of rain. I thought I'd treat myself to some flowers.  I had an appointment in Balmain in the morning and picked these up at one of the local grocers. I don't normally buy flowers from shops - much more likely to buy them at the Orange Grove Markets on a Saturday but I saw these lovely colourful roses and thought why not...

I have a beautiful blue vase that I was going to use but can't find it anywhere so thought I'd use this green vase instead. It's from Iran and I love the matte green glass.  My sister gave this to me for my birthday about 16 years ago. I just had to think of how long ago it would have been and calculating it has made me think "Holey moley I'm getting old" - I'm turning 45 tomorrow, Saturday...maybe feeling old is why I've treated myself to flowers...

These green ginger jars were a wedding present from my good friend Jodie and her husband Lincoln (the ones we stayed with in Burrawang this past long weekend). After they had given them to us, they decided they loved them so much they went and bought some for themselves but could only find ones a bit smaller. Are you a fan of ginger jars also?

This white sideboard is still for sale, please let me know if you are interested.  I wasn't in a hurry to sell this as I love having it at the end of our lounge room but next Wednesday I'm picking up a beautiful chest of drawers and once it is painted it will need a spot to sit until it's sold. Furniture on rotation...

For my birthday I'm using the gift voucher I won at the Pinterest event run by Kleenex Cottonelle. We're going to dinner at Sean's Panorama at Bondi Beach. I am really looking forward to it.

And today it's my niece's birthday. Happy birthday Sammy! I hope our present arrives in time.

cheers
Fiona

I probably need to walk around Chinatown next time I am in Sydney too! Thankyou for (trying) to look at my brand new blog too! I am a silly fool as I couldn't search for it and was wondering why it wouldn't pop up on google.

I will try to fix it first and will probably take you up on that email offer of help as I have no idea what I am doing. Hope your birthday was beautiful! xx
