Antique Glazed Dresser

A client recently asked me to paint her dresser. She had attempted to paint it herself and got into some trouble and asked me to re-do it.

I painted it a soft limed white and then antique glazed it to bring out the details. I hope she is happy.  I think it's very pretty.

A close up of the mirror detail. The client wanted this heavily glazed.

The dresser originally had drop brass handles but my client is replacing these with something prettier.

This is the dresser originally but it came to me a dark grey that my client had painted it herself and she wasn't happy with either the colour or the finish.

I hope she's happy now!
cheers
Fiona

    1. thanks Karen, I think it's easier to buy, paint and sell furniture than do commission jobs for someone else. I hate worrying if they are going to like it!

    2. Love what you did with the dresser, Fiona -- it looks gorgeous. I know what you mean about commission jobs -- the constant second-guessing you don't have when the client is still 'unknown' & you simply go with the flow.

    3. thanks Vanessa - yes it's sometimes good to know you don't have to worry about a sale but hard to know that the client is going to be happy. although having the blog helps and getting all your lovely feedback. at least i know i'm on the right path! LOL.
