My first giveaway!
We were out to dinner with good friends last week and they were telling us about their son's birthday which had been that afternoon. We asked if they'd had the ten little boys at their house (which was looking rather tidy) and my friend said "oh no, we outsource our parties". It got me thinking...Phil and I aren't very good at outsourcing anything. I think that's the problem when two engineers marry, they think they can (and have to) do everything themselves. We have always hosted our own parties and put a great deal of effort into them - as well as undertaking some massive home project at the same time - like rebuilding and painting the pergola, upholstering the lounge or repainting the lounge room - all done on the eve of parties.
Anyway despite the mad effort, I do love hosting a themed birthday party for my kids. Over the years we've had mermaid, spiderman, jungle, rapunzel and craft parties. My favourite party was my son's third birthday - a pirate theme.
